The name of
Ambo mineral water is originated from the name of the Ambo town
situated about 125 km west of Addis Ababa, capital of Ethiopia. Over half
a century ago dignitaries and members of the royal court frequently
visited Ambo and made it resort town. Historical accounts abound about
important personages who, upon recommendations by the medics of the day,
went to Ambo to bathe in the sparkling and refreshing mineral water and to
use it as medicinal nourishment for 7-14 days. This gave rise to studies
by international organizations. For most among these was the pasture
institute. Careful studies made with regards to the nature and content of
the mineral water have reveled its curative qualities. |
