1. The
Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has allocated sufficient
budget for the construction of Nejo-jarso-Begi and Shahura-Gelego
Gravel Surfaced Road Projects (approximately 148 and 147 Km. long
respectively).
2. The
Ethiopian Roads Authority invites all Contractors of category GC-1
or RC-1 registered at the Ministry of Infrastructure under the
prevailing Finance Regulation issued by the Council of Ministers for
the construction of the above-mentioned projects.
3. Contractors
should renew their Registration License for 1997 Ethiopian Calendar
Year.
4. Interested
bidders may obtain further information and collect the bidding
document from Ethiopian Roads Authority, Engineering Services
Procurement Branch Office, 2nd floor, Room No. 204, Fax
251-1-50 00 82 or 251-1-51 48 66, Tel. 251-1-15 30 15.
5. The
Bidding document can be purchased as of April 22, 2005 on
presentation of a registration certificate fro Ministry of
Infrastructure, VAT registration certificate and on submission of a
written application to the Engineering services Procurement, Design
and Technical Support Division of ERA and upon payment of
non-refundable fee of Ethiopian Birr 750 (Birr Seven Hundred Fifty)
made payable to Ethiopian Roads Authority for each project.
6. The
bid and qualification documents for the subject projects should be
prepared in one original and four copies and be submitted to the
General Manager Office, Ethiopian Roads Authority, P.O. Box 1770,
Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Fax 251-1-51 48 66, Tel. 15 66 03 on or
before June 14, 2005 at 2:30 P.M. and 3:30 P.M. local time
respectively.
7.
Bids can be submitted
for one or both projects however discover discounts offered on
condition of award of both contracts will not be considered.
8.
Bid documents will be
opened immediately after the closing time for submission in the
presence of ERA Contract Award Committee & Bidders representatives
who wish to attend.
9.
A bid, which is
received late, will not be considered.
10.
ERA reserves the right
to reject any or all bids.
