Request for Proposals (RFP) to carry out Consulting Services for
Design and Construction Supervision of Municipal Infrastructure
Government of FDRE has obtained at Grant from the German Financial
Cooperation (KfW) for financing of the "Urban Development Fund" and
intends to apply a portion of this Fund to Municipal Infrastructure
Projects in selected City Administration in four Regional States.

invite Consultant to submit proposals for detailed Design and
Construction Supervision of:
i. Lot 1: Solid Waste Management
for Dire Dawa, Kombolcha & Mekelle
ii. Lot 2: Liquid Waste Management
for Gondar City
ii. Lot 3 Urban Storm Water
Drainage for Bahir Dar City
iii. Lot 4: Abattoir for Adama &
iv. Lot 5 Market Centre Upgrading
for Awassa & Bishoftu Cities
Detailed Terms of Reference (ToRs)
are available from the Urban Development Capacity Building Office,
the address indicated below.
A consultant may bid for one or more Lots.
A complete set of bidding document may be purchased by any
interested and eligible bidders on payment of a non-refundable fee
of Birr 50 for each lot payable in cash to the UDBO.
The RFP is open to any Consultant Category Three and above
who are in possession of:
* Trade license &
Consultancy Service Certificate Valid for 1997 Ethiopian
* VAT registration
Consultants must submit ONE original and FOUR copies of each
proposal (technical and financial separately). Information on the
outer envelope should also include: Proposal for Consultancy
Services Lot_ (Lot number/s and description).

8. Proposals must be
submitted at the submission address indicated above to The
Director's Office on or before the 2nd of June 2005 at
3:00 P.M. and proposals will be opened on the same date and time in
the Conference Room of UDCBO, in the presence of the bidders or
their representatives, who wish to attend.
9. A firm will be selected
under Quality- and Cost-Based Selection (QCBS) and procedures as
described in the RFP document.
10. The Client reserves the
right to accept or reject any proposal and is not
obliged to give reasons for any decision taken.
