1. The
Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has received a credit from
the International Development Association (IDA) toward the cost of
Agricultural Research and Training Project, and intends to apply
part of the proceeds of this credit to payment under the contract
for the Supply, Delivery and Installation of Laboratory
Equipment, Chemicals & Glass Wares for Six Agricultural Research
Centers.
2. The
Ethiopian Agricultural Research Organization-Agricultural Research
and Training Project now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders
for the Supply, Delivery and Installation of Laboratory
Equipment, Chemicals & Glass Wares. Bidders have the option to
bid for one or more of the Lots and must give a technical responsive
bid for at least for 75% of the items in each lot.

3. Bidders
who have not quoted technically responsive bid for at least 75% of
the items in the lot and for 100% of the quantities for each item
will be considered as incomplete and rejected as non-responsive.
4. Bidding
will be conducted through the international Competitive Bidding
Procedures specified in the World Bank's Guidelines: Procurement
under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, and is open to all bidders from
eligible source countries as defined in the Guidelines.
5.
Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information
from the project Coordination office of ARTP and inspect the
bidding documents at the address below from 9:00 A.M. to 12:00
A.M. and 2:00 P.M.-5:00 P.M. (Local time) Monday to Friday.
6. A
complete set of bidding documents in English may be purchased by
interested bidders as of August 12, 2005 (Monday-Friday) 9:00
A.M-12:00 noon and 2:00-5:00 P.M. on the submission of a written
application to the address below and upon payment of a
non-refundable fee of Birr 200 (Two Hundred) or USD 25 (USD
Twenty Five) or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible
currency. The method of payment will be Cash or Cashers' Check. The
Bidding document will be sent by first class mail for overseas who
send a Crossed Bank Draft of Birr 300 (Birr Three Hundred) or USD
35 (Thirty Five USD) or an equivalent amount in a freely
convertible currency in addition to the price of the document to the
address given below.
7. Bids
must be delivered to the address below at or before 2:00 P.M.
(local time) on October 11, 2005. All bids must be
accompanied by a bid security of not less than 2 % of the bid
price or in a freely convertible currency. Late bids will be
rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the
bidders/representatives who choose to attend at the address below at
2:30 P.M. (local time) on October 11, 2005.
