1. The
Government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has
received a grant of EURO 3 million from the Kreditanstalt for
Wiederaufbau (KfW) towards the cost of the Family Planning and AIDS
Programme. It is intended that part of the proceeds of this Grant
will be applied to eligible payment under the contracts for which
this invitation for bids is issued.
2.
The Pharmaceutical Administration and Supply Service (PASS)
of the Ministry of Health of Ethiopia now invites sealed bid form
eligible bidders for the supply of 1.2 million injectable
contraceptives with syringes and needles. Bids shall be submitted
for all items required.
Bidding will be conducted through
the Competitive Bidding procedures specified in present instruction,
and are open to all eligible bidders.
3. Eligible
bidder may be to any nationality. The injectable contraceptives to
be offered must be registered in Ethiopia with the Drugs
Administration Control Authority.
Interested eligible bidders may
obtain further information form and inspect the bidding documents at
the office of PASS at the address below, or at GOPA-Consultants, Bad
Homburg, Germany at the address below.
4. A
complete set of bidding documents may be obtained by interested
bidders on the submission of a written application to the address
below and upon payment of non-refundable fee of Birr 200 to Ministry
of Health. If the interested bidders whishes the tender documents to
be mailed internationally, Additionally US$ 30 must be paid in the
manner above, and the mailing address must be stated in the written
application.
5. Alternatively
the bidding documents may be obtained form GOPA-Consultants, att.
Mr. P. Riemersma at the address below against payments of EURO 20 in
cash, by “Verrechnungsscheck” or crossed check in favour of
GOPA-Consultants, and additionally EURO 30, in case mailing is
requested.
6. Bid
must be delivered at the Ministry of Health, Office at the office of
the Tender Committee’s Secretary. Room 23 in Bid Submission Box,
Woreda 3, Kebele 53, Sudan Street Sengatera area, Addis Ababa,
Ethiopia on or before 14:00 hours (local time) on 7th
February (2006) and must be accompanied by a bid security of not
less than 2% of the bid price in EURO.
Bids will be opened in the
Conference Hall of the Ministry of Health, Head Office at the above
address in the presence of bidders/representatives who choose to
attend at 14:30 hours (local time), on 7th February 2006.
7. The
Ministry of Health is not obliged to accept the lowest tender or any
one tender.
