1.      The Ethiopian Electric Power Corporation (EEPCo) hereby inviters all local Competitive Bidders who have Trade License, BoWaUD’s certificate & MoFaED registration valid minimum for 1997 Ethiopian Calendar to conduct & submit a sealed bid for the supply of Household Furniture for Melka Wakana, Finchaa, Tis Abay, Awash II & III and Koka Hydro Electric Power plants workers recreation clubs, Tender RHPP2-98.

The Tender invites only supply CIF to the point of destinations.

2.      The bidders are invited to submit tender entirely responsible for the combination/package of contract components. Regarding Supply of goods and/or equipment, shipment shall be delivered to the point of final destinations as instructed in the schedule of prices. (If a bidder requires the whole tender documents in floppy disk, flash disk or CD it is allowed to collect form Power Plants Rehabilitation Project Office.

3.      To qualify for the tender, bidder should have sufficient experience in supplying the said equipment and to have with satisfactory performance in the last five (5) years, alone or as leading partner (sponsor), on the supply of Household Furniture at least for (3) years.

4.      Bidders are allowed to bid and submit a complete set of bidding documents for Contract Components may be purchased by any interested eligible bidder upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Ethiopian Birr 100 (Birr One Hundred) form:

5.      The total tender price and bill of quantities shall be given in Ethiopian Birr, besides, the bidders should include 15% VAT in their bill of quantities.

6.      Evaluation of the offer shall be undertake in two stages:

6.1  Preliminary Examination

In this initial stage preliminary examination for eligibility like presentation of valid bid bond, power of attorney, qualification of the bidder & all tender requirement are reviewed. Failure to comply to these requirements shall result in immediate rejection.

6.2  Evaluation for ranking

In this stage technical & financial merit point method shall be applied to determine the prospective bidder as per the tender requirements. The merit points are taken out of 100% (70% for technical offer and 30 % for financial offer). In the technical evaluation (70%), quantity and quality of the equipment to be supplied as per the tender requirement and proposed detail schedules activities for supply are weighted, while the 30% financial merit will be given to the lowest tender price.

7.      The corporation reserves the right to post qualify the prospective bidders and to accept or totally reject the tender.

8.      Tender documents will be available form December 21, 2005, onwards.

9.      Interested bidders may visit the sites if they wish, covering the required cost.

10.  The bid must be accompanied by a security of not less than 2% (Tow Percent) of the total price for the Contract Components in the form of certificate check or bank guarantee form a reputable Domestic Bank.

11.  Officers should be delivered to the foregoing address on or before January 25, 2006 at 16:00 hrs. local time.

12.  Technical & Financial Offers will be opened at the same time on January 26, 2006 at 10:00 hours local time at the EEPCo Club, Mexico Square, Addis Ababa. Bidders are advised to attend this tender opening session.

13.  The Corporation reserves the right to post qualify the prospective bidders and to accept or totally reject the tender.
