To: All contractors of Category BC/GC class Eight (8) and above with license valid for the year.

1.       The CARE International in Ethiopia has received a budget from EU towards the cost of construction of Urban HIV Resource Project, which is located at Arada Sub City, Kebele 15/16, Addis Ababa City Administrative Region.  It is intended that part of this budget will be applied to eligible payments under the contract for construction of HIV/AIDS Resource center.

2.       The CARE International in Ethiopia now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for furnishing the necessary labour, materials and equipment for the construction, reparation, and completion of The Resource Center.

3.       A complete set of bidding documents may be purchased by any interested eligible bidders on the submission of a written application to CARE International in Ethiopia head office Room No. 19 upon payment of Birr Hundred (100) only.  Additional sets of documents may be purchased each at the same price.

4.       Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from and inspect the bidding documents at CARE International in Ethiopia Room No. 19, Tel. 53 80 40, Fax 53 80 35, P.O. Box 4710, Addis Ababa.

5.       Bids shall be valid for a period of 90 days after bid opening and all bids must be accompanied by a bid security, 1% of the bid amount in an acceptable form of a Bank Guarantee or CPO.  The bid must be delivered to CARE International in Ethiopia, Head Office on or before 4:00 P.M. the 16th day of January 2006.

6.       Bids will be opened in the presence of bidders/representatives who choose to attend at the next date at 10:00 A.M. at the office of CARE International in Ethiopia.

7.       The Employer reserves the right to reject any or all bids.

N.B:-  Bidders are requested to fill all the necessary details in the schedule not providing the required information in accordance to the enclosed instruction to bidders may lead to disqualification.
