1.     The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has received a credit from the International Development Association (IDA) towards the cost of Agricultural Research and Training Project and intends to apply part of the funds to cover eligible payments under the contract for the supply and installation of Swimming Pool Filtration Equipment, Underwater Lighting and Pool Access Equipment Tender No. AU/ARTP/NCB/CW07-04/05. Bidding is open to all bidders from eligible source countries as defined in the Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits.

2.      The Alemaya University invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the supply and Installation of Swimming Pool Filtration Equipment, Underwater Lighting and Pool Access Equipment.

3.      Domestic bidders are required to submit proof of their up to date registration from Ministry of Infrastructure Development and/or Trade and Industry Bureau for the year in which the bid is issued.

4.      Bidding documents (and additional copies) may be purchased at the Alemaya University of Education, Old Building  Tel. 57 10 98 or 55 31 33 (Ext. 208) or 09- 24 62 95 for a non- refundable  fee of Birr 400 (Ethiopian Birr Four Hundred) or its equivalent in a freely-convertible currency for each set. Interested bidders may obtain further information at the same address.

5.      Bids shall be valid for a period of 90 days after bid opening and must be accompanied by security of Birr 5,000 and shall be delivered to Alemaya University, Addis Ababa Liaison Office, Ministry of Education, Office No. 116 old building, Tel. 57 10 98 or 55 31 33 (Ext. 208) Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on or before 9:30 A.M. on March 1, 2005 at which time they will be opened in the presence of bidders who wish to attend.

6.      Qualified domestic bidders may be eligible to receive a margin of preference of 7 percent in bid evaluation.
