Description

 

1.      The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has received a credit from the International Development Association (IDA) toward the cost of Agricultural Research and Training Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this credit to payment under the contract fro the procurement of IT and Office Equipment.

2.      The Ethiopian Agricultural Research Organization-Agricultural Research and Training Project (ARTP) now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders fro the supply and delivery of the following IT and Office Equipment. Bidders have the option to bid for one or more of the lots and bidders are required to quote at least 80% of technically responsive items in a lot, and for 100% of the quantities for each item.

Bidders who have not quoted at least 80% technically responsive items in the lot and for 100% of the quantities for each item will be considered as incomplete and rejected as non-responsive.

3.      Bidding will be conducted through the National Competitive Bidding (NCB) Procedures specified in the World Bank's Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, and is open to all potential suppliers in the list from eligible source countries as defined in the Guidelines.

4.      Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from the project coordination office of ARTP and inspect the bidding documents at the address given below from 09:00 A.M. to 12:00 A.M. and 2:00 P.M.-5:00 P.M. (Local time) during working days, Monday to Friday.

5.      A complete set of bidding documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders as of June 17, 2005 (Monday-Friday) 9:00 A.M-12:00 noon and 2:00-5:00 P.M. on the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Birr 200 (Two Hundred). The method of payment will be cash or cashers' check.

6.      Bids must be delivered to the address below at or before 2:30 P.M. on July 18, 2005. All bids must be accompanied by a bid security 2 percent of the bid price or in an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders/representatives who choose to attend at the address below at 3:00 P.M. on July 18, 2005.
