1.     The Arada-Subcity Infrastructure & Housing Affair invites registered contracts of category GC-5/RC-5 and above with license valid for the 1997 EC budget year registered for VAT to submit wax-sealed bids for providing the necessary labor, materials equipment and any other necessary requirements for the execution and completion of the FANDO MEDA BRIDGE Project.

2.     Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information and inspect the bidding document at the office of:

Arada-Subcity Infrastructure & Housing Affairs Office

P.O. Box 25227, Tel. 11 33 62, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

3.      Each prospective bidder proposing to bid for this project must be eligible fulfilling the requirements of the Particular instruction of the project.

4.     A complete set of bidding documents may be purchased by any interested eligible bidder on the submission of written application to the above address and payment of a non-refundable fee of Birr 200.00.

5.      All bids must be accompanied by a bid security not less than 1% of the bid amount or a maximum of Br. 100,000.  The bid security shall be payable on demand to the employer, and must be an irrevocable Letter of Credit, or Bank Guarantee, or insurance guarantee. Or a Certified Payment Order (CPO) at the bidders option.

The bid along with the bid security must be delivered to Arada-Subcity Infrastructure & Housing Affairs Office, P.O. Box 25227

Addis Ababa on or before April 8, 2005.

6.      Bids will be opened in presence of bidders or bidders’/representatives who choose to attend at the Arada-Subcity Infrastructure & Housing Affairs Office on April 8, 2005 at 2:00 P.M. local time.

7.      The construction of the work shall be completed within 120 calendar days form commencement of works.

8.      The employer reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities, to advertise for new bids or to proceed and do the work other wise as may be for its best interest.
