1.      The Dire Dawa Provisional Administration Road Authority invites registered contractors of Category GC-1 or RC-1 and above with license valid for the 1997 E.C. budget year and registered for VAT to submit wax-sealed bids for providing the necessary labour, materials equipment and any other necessary requirements for the execution and completion of the Dire Dawa Town Arterial Asphalt Road Project.

2.      Interested eligible bidders may obtain  further information and inspect the bidding  document at the office of:

3.      Each prospective bidder proposing to bid for this project must be eligible fulfilling the requirements of the Particular Instruction of the Project.

4.      A complete set of bidding documents may be purchased by any interested eligible bidder on the submission of a written application to the above address and payment of a non-refundable fee of 500 Birr for each set of document.

5.      All bids must be accompanied by a bid security not less than 1% of the bid amount or a maximum of Birr 100,000.  The bid security shall be payable  on demand to the  employer, and must be an irrevocable Letter of Credit, or Bank Guarantee, or Insurance Guarantee, or a Certified Payment Order (CPO) at the bidders option. 

     The bid along with the bid security must be delivered to the Transport Construction Design Share Company Office, P.O. Box 41726 Addis Ababa on or before April 18, 2005 at 10:00 A.M.

6.      Bids will be opened in the presence of bidders or bidders' representatives who choose to attend at the Head Office of the Transport Construction Design Share Company on April 18, 2005 at 10:30 A.M.

7.      The construction of the work shall be completed within 350 calendar days from commencement of works.

8.      The Employer reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities, to advertise for new bids or to proceed and do the work otherwise as may be for its best interest.
