1.       The Government of Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has received a grant from the IDA (International Development Association) toward the cost of PASTORAL COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this grant to payments under the contract for the procurement of Information Technology (IT) Equipment.  This project will be jointly financed by the International Fund for Agricultural Development, (IFAD).

2.      The Federal Project Coordination Unit (FPCU) now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the supply of Information Technology (IT) Equipment in Two Lots:

       Lot I: 11 units of Lap Top, 86 units of Desk Top, 6 units of Server   
                      Computers, 92 units of Ups and Computer Software
       Lot II:   50 units of Printers.

      Bidders are required to quote unit rates of all items of the lot.  Bidders not giving a technically responsive offer for 100% of the items in a lot will be treated as incomplete and rejected as non-responsive.

3.        Bidding will be conducted through the international competitive bidding procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, “January 1995, revised January and August 1996, September 1997, and January 1999” and are open to all bidders from eligible source countries as defined in the Guidelines.

4.        Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from the Federal Project Coordination Unit (FPCU) and inspect the bidding documents at the address given below from 9:00 to 12:30 A.M.  and 1:30 to 5:30 P.M. local time

5.        A complete set of bidding documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Birr 150 for both lots or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency. The method of payment will be sent by airmail/surface mail upon additional non-refundable fee of Birr 350 or in equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency.

6.       Bids must be delivered to the address below at or before 10:00 A.M. local time on the 6th of May 2005.

7.       All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security of Birr 65, 000 & Birr 12, 500 or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency for LOT I & II respectively.

8.       Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders or their representatives who choose to attend at the address below at 11:00 A.M. local time on the 6th of May 2005. Late bids will be rejected.
