1.      CISP has signed a co-funding contract with the Commission of the European Communities toward a project entitled "Reinforcing Rural Livelihood through an Integrated Food Security Approach in Fedis and Goro Gutu Woredas of East Hararghe Zone, Oromia Regional State (Ethiopia). "The program envisages the procurement of two Double Cabin 4WD Pick-up vehicles, on duty-free basis, under the framework of capacity building to the government institutions.

2.      Bidding will be conducted through the International Competitive Bidding Procedures bases on EU Procurement Guidelines, and is open on equal terms to all natural and legal persons of the Member States and the territories of regions expressly covered and/or allowed by the Financial regulation, the basic legislation or other instruments governing the aid program under which the grant is being financed. Thus, bidders must state, in the bid, the country of which they are nationals by presenting the usual proof of nationality under their national legislation. Moreover, bidders must clearly state the country of origin of the vehicles.

3.      Interested and eligible bidders may obtain further information from the office of CISP-Ethiopia and inspect the bidding documents at the address given below any time during normal working hours.

4.      A complete set of bidding documents prepared in English language may be purchased by interested eligible bidders on the submission of a written application to the address below  and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Birr 100 (One Hundred only) or in an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency starting from the date of this advertisement.

5.      Bids must be sealed and delivered to the address below at or before 05:00 P.M. on June 13, 2005. All bids must be accompanied by a bid security amounting to 2% of the bid price and should be deposited in cash or in CPO or in bank or insurance guarantee and payable to "CISP". Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of bidders and/or their representatives who choose to attend on June 14, 2005 at 10:00 A.M. at the office of CISP-Ethiopia.

6.      CISP reserves the right to inspect or reject all or part of the bid at any time prior to award of the contract without giving any reason thereof.
