Description

 

1.      The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has received a credit from the International Development Association toward the cost of Agricultural Research & Training Project, and intends to apply part of the proceeds of this credit to payment under the contract for the Supply, Delivery and Installation of Laboratory & Field Equipment for Agricultural Research Centers.

2.      The Federal Agricultural Research Organization-Agricultural Research and Training Project now invites sealed bids form eligible bidders for the supply, delivery and installation of Laboratory and Field Equipment. Bidders are required to quote at least 75 % technically responsive items in the lot and for 100% of the quantities for each item. Bidders who have not quoted a technically responsive bid for at least 75% of the item in the lot and for 100% of the quantities for each item will be considered as incomplete and rejected as non-responsive.

3.      Bidding will be conducted through the international competitive bidding procedures specified in the World Bank's Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credit, and is open to all bidders form eligible source countries as defined in the Guidelines.

4.      Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from the Project Coordinating Office of ARTP and inspect the bidding documents at the address below from 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 A.M. and 2:00 P.M.-5:00 P.M. (local time) Monday-Friday.

5.      A complete set of bidding documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders as of May 19, 2005 (Monday-Friday: 9:00 A.M.-12 noon and 2:00-5:00 P.M.) on the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Birr 200 (Two Hundred) or USD 25(USD Twenty Five) or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency. The method of payment will be cash or casher's check. The bidding document will sent by first class mail for overseas bidders who send a Crossed Bank Draft of Birr 300 (Birr Three Hundred) or USD 35 (USD Thirty Five) or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency in addition to the price of the document to the address given below.

6.      Bids must be delivered to the address below at or before 2:00 P.M. (local time) on July 20, 2005. All bids must be accompanied by a bid security of not less than 2% of the bid price or in a freely convertible currency. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidder's and/or their representatives who choose to attend at the address below at 2:00 P.M. (local time) on July 20, 2005.
