Description

 

1.   The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has received a credit form the International Development Association toward the cost of the Emergency Recovery Project and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this credit to eligible payment under the contract for the Supply of various office furniture, and Bidding will be governed by the World Bank’s eligibility rules and procedures.

2.   Ministry of Finance and Economic Development now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the supply of the following type of furniture.

3.   Award will be made on a lot basis.  Bidders must bid for all items in the Lot.  If the bidder does not bid for all items in a Lot, the bid for that Lot will be rejected.  If no bidder bids for all items in a Lot, the award for the Lot will be made on an item-by-item basis.

4.   Catalogue with full description of Technical features or technical drawings should be provided to allow evaluators to determine the compliance of the offered goods with technical specification.

5.   Bidding will be conducted through the National Competitive Bidding procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits and are open to all bidders from eligible source countries as defined in the Guidelines.

6.   Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from the office mentioned below in Addis Ababa and inspect the bidding documents at the address given below, Monday through Friday.

7.   The bidding documents are available in English.  Interested bidders may purchase the bidding document from the Address below upon payment of non-refundable fee of Birr 50 in cash or CPO in favor of MOFED.

8.   Bids must be delivered to the address below and be inserted in the Tender Box prepared at or before 10:00 local time on June 24, 2005 (Friday).  All bids must be accompanied by a bid security in the amount of Minimum 2% of the offered Price.  Late bids will be rejected.  Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders/representatives who choose to attend at the address below at 10:30 A.M. on June 24, 2005 (Friday).
