Description

 

1.   The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has received a credit from the International Development Association to wards the cost of Emergency Demobilization and Reintegration Project and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this credit to payment under the contract for the supply of Physiotherapy Equipment and Orthopedics Equipment and Tools.

2.   The Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, Federal Programme Management Unit (FPMU) now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the supply of the following:

Bidders have the option to bid for any one or more lots. Bids will be evaluated and contract(s) awarded for each lot taking into account discounts offered if any, for combined lots in determining the lowest evaluated costs of all lots which will be the basis for award of contract(s). However, bid not offering all the quantities in a lot will be treated as incomplete and rejected as non-responsive. In the event of there being no complete bid for a lot, evaluation will be done be done on item by item basis.

3.   Bidding will be conducted through the international  competitive bidding procedure specified in the World Bank's Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, and is open to all bidders form eligible source countries as defined in the Guidelines.

4.   Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from EPMU and inspect the bidding documents at the address given below form 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. form Monday to Friday.

5.   A complete set of bidding document in English may be purchased by interested bidders as of May 3, 2005, (Monday-Friday 9:00-12:00 A.M. and 2:00-5:00 P.M. and Saturday 9:00-11:00 A.M.) on the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Birr 150 (One Hundred Fifty). The method of payment will be in cash or cashier's check (CPO).

6.   Bids must be delivered to the address below at or before 10:00 A.M. (local time) on June 16, 2005. All bids must be accompanied by a bid security of not less than 2% of the total bid amount or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders/representatives who choose to attend at the address below at the address below at 10:15 A.M. on June 16, 2005.
