Sell of Scraps



The Ministry of National Defense Wishes to sell in a closed bid through competition scraps in the condition as they are. The scraps are of a considerable and different large quality and have been lying piled up for a long time at the Eastern Region, in Harar and Hamaressa, in Dire Dawa and Hursu as well as at Jijjiga Military camps.

Therefore, bidders who are inclined to participate in the tender should take note of the following particulars.

1.   Any bidder who is disposed to purchase the scarps by tender may appear at the Ministry of National Defense, the Former 4th Division compound, Finance Operation Management Department, H/B 17 Office NO. 121, always at Office Hours, from May 06, 2005, until June 6, 2005, as of the date of the publication of this Notice by paying a non-refundable scrap tender document of Birr 100 (One Hundred Birr). They can go up to the place cited above and match in person the Film prepared for explaining the property's condition but carrying with them the relevant receipt.

2.   Out of the total price with which the scraps are to be bought, they may deposit 20 % Tender Guarantee financial Bid-Bond either in cash or by CPO Bank Cheque and appear at the place of Tender. The fund deposited as Bid- Bond guarantee will be accounted for as credit for the winners and the money deposited will be refunded to the bid losers immediately.

3.   The properties offered for sale by tender could be inspected always during office hours at the above described place indicated under No. 1 by carrying with them Receipt with which they purchased the bid-bond on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, from 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 A.M. by watching the film prepared for this purpose.

4.   Bidders may fill out the total price of one Ton scraps which they intend to bid for and place it in the Tender Document Box prepared for this purpose in a wax-sealed envelope until June 6 at 12:00 A.M. of the day by appearing at the place shown under No.1

5.   The bid will be closed on June 6 at 12:00 A.M. of the day and opened on the same date at 2:00 P.M. in the presence of the bidders or their legal representatives.

6.   No bid price could be submitted by another bidder on the basis of the same single price.

7.   Within 10 days from the date within which the bid winners are notified that they have won the tender, they may execute the contract by paying the amount due and payable by them.

8.   According to the contract entered into by the bid winner, he/she should remove the property within the stipulated time as otherwise his/her winner status will be revoked and the amount deposited bid bond guaranteed will be forfeited.

9.   Any expense for loading, transporting, weighing, unloading and cutting will be born by the bid winner party.

10. In the event additional information is needed about the tender, inquiry could be addressed over Tel. No.66 14 78 for clarification.

11. The Institution's Right is hereby reserved to cancel the Tender either partially as well as in full; should it receive a better offer.
