1. The
Benishangul Gumuz Regional State Rural Roads Authority invites
registered contractors of Category GC-1 and RC-1 with license valid
for the year 2005/06 and registered for VAT to submit sealed bids
for providing the necessary labour, materials and equipment for the
Construction of Gilgel Belese-Debate Road Project.
2. Interested
eligible bidders may obtain further information and inspect the

3. The
Benishangul Gumuz Regional State Rural Roads Authority has delegated
‘Transport Construction Design Share Company’ for the
execution of the bid process for the Road Project and to recommend
the winner ranking as per the construction rule & regulation of the
country.
4. Each
prospective bidder proposing to bid for this project must be
eligible fulfilling the requirements of Clause 3 of the Particular
Instruction of the Project.
5. A
complete set of bidding documents may be purchased by any interested
eligible bidder on the submission of a written application to the
above address and payment of a non-refundable fee of Birr 1,728
for each set of document starting from the first appearance of
this advertisement on The Ethiopia Herald for the coming 30 days.
The final submission date and opening of the proposal will be on the
31st date of this announcement on The Ethiopian Herald at
10:00 A.M. local time. A proposal, which is received late, will be
returned un open to respective bidders.
6. All
bids must be accompanied by a bid security not less than 1% of the
bid amount or a maximum of 100,000 Ethiopian Birr. The bid security
shall be payable on demand to the Authority, and must be an
irrevocable Letter of Credit, or Bank Guarantee, or a Certified
Payment Order (CPO) at the bidders option.
The bid along with the bid security
must be delivered to the TCDSCo’s General Manager’s Office, P.O.
Box 41726, Addis Ababa before 31st date of this
advertisement on The Ethiopian Herald.
7. Bids
will be opened in the presence of bidders/representatives who choose
to attend at the Head Office of the Transport Construction
Design Share Company.
If the 31st date of this
announcement lies on a weekend or a Holiday, the opening date will
be the next working day while the time remains the same.
The construction of the work shall
be completed within 730 calendar days from commencement of
works.
8. The
Benishangul Gumuz Regional State Rural Roads Authority reserves
the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities, to
advertise for new bids or to proceed and do the work otherwise as
may be before its best interest.
