1. The
Comet Transport Share Company invites registered contractors of
Category GC-3 or RC-3 and above with license renewed at least for
the year 1997 E.C. and registered for VAT to submit sealed bids for
providing the necessary labour, materials equipment and any other
necessary requirements for the execution and completion of the
Upgrading of Container Terminal at Nifasilk.
2. Interested
eligible bidders may obtain further information and inspect the
bidding document at the office of:

3. Each
prospective bidder proposing to bid for this project must be
eligible fulfilling the requirements of the particular instruction
of the project.
4. A
complete set of bidding documents may be purchased by any interested
eligible bidder on the submission of a written application to the
above address and payment of a non-refundable fee of Birr 500 for
each set of document.
5. All
bids must be accompanied by a bid security not less than 1% of the
bid amount or a minimum of Birr 100,000. The bid security shall be
Payable on demand to the employer, and must be only a Certified
Payment Order (CPO).
The bid along with the bid
security must be delivered to the Comet Transport Share Company
Office, P.O. Box 2402 Addis Ababa on or before the 30th
day of the first announcement of this invitation on The Ethiopian
Herald at 10:00 A.M.
6. Bids
will be opened in the presence of bidders or bidders representatives
who choose to attend at the Head Office of the Comet Transport Share
Company on the 31st day of this announcement, at 10:00
A.M.
7. The
construction of the work shall be completed within 180 calendar days
from commencement of works.
8. The
Employer reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to
waive informalities, to advertise for new bids or to proceed and do
the work otherwise as may be for its best interest.
