1.
This Specific Procurement Notice follows the General
Procurement Notice for this Project which appeared in Development
Business Issue No. 592 dated 16 October 2002.
2. The
Government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has
received a loan from the African Development Fund in the amount of
UA 19,890,000 towards the cost of Harar Water Supply and Sanitation
Project, and intends to apply part of the proceeds of the loan to
cover eligible payments under the contract for the supply of Water
Meters and Meter Test Bench (Contract Identification: HWSSP-WM).
Bidding is open to all bidders from eligible member countries as
defined in the ADB’s Rules of Procedure for Procurement of Goods and
Works.
3. The
Ministry of Water Resources now invites sealed bids from prospective
bidders for the supply of:
- 4000
no. Class C Volumetric Water Meters ND 15 to 40
- Water
Meter Test Bench for ND 15 to 25.

Complete set of bidding documents (and additional copies) may
be purchased from the Ministry of Water Resources at the Address
given below upon payment of a non-refundable fee of ETB 500 (Five
Hundred) in local currency, or its equivalent in freely convertible
currency, for each set. Interested eligible bidders may obtain
further information and inspect the bidding documents at the same
address:

The Instruction to bidders and General Conditions of Contract
contained in the bidding documents comply with the Bank’s Standard
bidding documents for the Procurement of Goods.
6. Bids
shall be valid for a period of 120 days after bid opening and must
be accompanied by a bid security of ETB 100,000 (One Hundred
Thousand) in local currency or its equivalent in a freely
convertible currency, and be delivered to the above office on or
before 11:00 A.M. local time on 16th of December 2005.
They will be opened in the presence of bidders/representatives who
choose to attend at the Ministry of Water Resources’ Hall (Second
Floor, Room No. 202), Haile Gebre Selassie Road in the same day
at 11:15 A.M. local time. |
