1. This
Specific Procurement Notice follows the General Procurement Notice
for this Project which appeared in Development Business Issue No.
592 dated 16 October 2002.
2. The
Government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has
received a loan form the African Development fund in the amount of
UA 19,890,000 towards the cost of Harar Water Supply and Sanitation
Project, and intends to apply part of the proceeds of the loan to
cover eligible payment of under the contract for the Supply of
Vacuum Tankers, Refuse Trucks, and Refuse Containers (Contract
Identification: SAN-EQP). Bidding is opened to all bidders form
eligible member countries as defined in the ADB's Rules of
Procurement for Procurement of Goods and Works.
3. The
Ministry of Water Resources now invites sealed bids form prospective
bidders for the Supply of goods under the Harar Water Supply and
Sanitation Project for the purchase of:
- 2 no. Truck
mounted Vacuum Tankers
- 1 no.
trailer mounted Vacuum Tanker
- 2 no. Refuse
Trucks
- 35 no. 7.5m3
Refuse Containers.
4.
Complete set of bidding documents (and additional copies) may
be purchased from the Ministry of Water Resources at the Address
given below upon payment of a non-refundable fee of ETB 500 (Five
Hundred) in local currency, or its equivalent in freely convertible
currency, for each set, payable to account of the Ministry of Water
Resources, Harar Water Supply and Sanitation Project, Commercial
Bank of Ethiopia, Finfine Branch, A/C No. 44 61/0172006479/00.
Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information and
inspect the bidding documents at the same address:

The Instruction to bidders and General Conditions of Contract
contained in the bidding documents comply with the Bank’s Standard
bidding documents for the Procurement of Goods, July 2005.
6. Bids
shall be valid for a period of 120 days after bid opening and must
be accompanied by a bid security of ETB 300,000 (Three Hundred
Thousand) in local currency or its equivalent in a freely
convertible currency, and be delivered to the above office on or
before 11:00 A.M. local time on 31st of December 2005.
They will be opened in the presence of bidders/representatives who
choose to attend at the Ministry of Water Resources’ Hall (Second
Floor, Room No. 202), Haile Gebre Selassie Road in the same
day at 11:15 A.M. local time. |
