1. The
Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia Arba Minch University has
allocated the necessary budget and is intended to apply eligible
payments under the contract for the manufactures and constructors of
prefabricated panel office for the Faculties and Department of Water
Technology and Engineering.
2. Arba
Minch University therefore invites sealed bids from eligible bidders
who have the experience of manufacturing and erected prefabricated
elements (panels) of categories GC/BC class 4 and above with renewed
license for the year 2005/2006 (1998 E.C.) and V.A.T. Registered
organizations, who may present their witnessing documents and
experience for the construction and completion of the faculties
offices.
3. The
project consists of chipwood panes elements, measuring
substructures, sanitary instillations and electrical works
associated with the building thereto.
4. Completes
set of Bidding document may be purchased from Arba Minch University
Liaison Office Room No. 123 at the Ministry of Education upon a
payment of non-refundable amount of Birr 100 on or before May 17th
2006.
5. Interested
eligible bidders may obtain further information from and inspect and
acquire the bidding documents at the office of the employer or its
lesson office.
6. All
bids must be accompanied by a bid security of 2% of the bid amount
in the form of bid bond from any financial institutions including
insurance company.
7. Wax-sealed
envelopes containing offer for furnishing all the necessarily labour
equipment and material for performing satisfactorily and completing
of all works as illustrated and describe in the bid documents shall
be deposited in the Arba Minch University.
The envelope
shall be submitted as follows:
a) A
separate sealed envelope and marked “Bid Bond” carrying the
contractors bid security as per time 6 above
b) A
third wax-sealed envelope marked “COPY of BID DOCUMENT” carrying the
copy of bid document.
c) A
fourth wax-sealed envelope and marked “BID DOCUMENT” carrying the
above three envelopes all together.
d) All
envelopes shall bear the following reference:

e) The
outer and inner envelopes shall bear the full address of the
contractor. The outer envelopes shall also bear the following. Do
Not Open Before 10:00 A.M. hrs May 17th 2006.
f) The
original Bid Envelope shall be opened if and only if the Bid Bond
Envelope carrying the bond is satisfactory.
8. Bids
will be opened and read in the presence of the bidders or their
authorized representatives who choose to attend at A.M.U. Liaison
Office 10:00 A.M. on May 17th 2006.
9. The
eligible bidders shall:
a)
Read the bid documents
particularly the instruction to bidders before filling rates in
their bids and the bid for construction shall be based on the bid
documents;
b)
Visit and investigate
the site of the works before filling rates in their bids;
c)
Be required to
furnish, if found a successful winner, a performance security, from
a surety approved by employer, in the sum of 10% (ten percent) of
the total contract sum for the faithful performance of the works in
accordance with the contract documents.

Arba Minch University
(A.M.U.) reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive
informalities, to advertise for new bids or to proceed and do the
work otherwise as may be deemed to be for its best interest without
giving reasons for doing so.
