1. The
Ethiopian Roads Authority has funds within the Employer’s budget to
be used for the procurement of the civil works of Gondar by Pass
Road Project.
2.
Ethiopian Roads
Authority invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the
provision of Civil Works for Gondar by Pass Road Project.
The project approximately covers a
total length of about 10.00 km and of which approximately 7.00 km is
a new re-alignments section and the rest 3.00 km is upgrading of the
existing road.
The completed road will have a
two-lane asphalt concrete sides of the carriage way. The project
also consists of construction of one major bridge having span
lengths of approximately 60.68 m long and minor drainage structures.
Bidders must have experience as a
prime contractor in the construction of at least one work of a
nature and complexity equivalent to the works over the last ten
years. The construction of the project is expended to be completed
within 365 calendar days.

Bidding will be
conducted in accordance with the open national tendering procedures
contained in the Public Procurement Proclamation of the Federal
Government of Ethiopia and is open to all bidders from eligible
source countries.
4. Interested
eligible bidders may obtain further information from the Ethiopian
Roads Authority and inspect the bidding documents at the address
given below at 7 (a) from 8:30 to 12:30 A.M. and 1:30 to 5:30 P.M.
from Monday to Thursday and from 8:30 to 11:30 A.M. and 1:30 to 5:30
P.M. on Friday beginning from April 27, 2006. The Ethiopian Roads
Authority will hold a pre-bid meeting on May 12, 2006 at 2:30 P.M.
5. A
complete set of bidding documents in English language may purchase
by interested bidders at the address below at 7(b) and upon payment
of a non-refundable fee of Ethiopian Birr 300. The method of payment
will be made in cash for Engineering Service Procurement Design and
Technical Support Division or bank certified cheque to ERA’s
account. National Bank of Ethiopia (NBE) A/C # 0160101011500. The
document will be sent by courier. No liability will be accepted for
loss or late delivery.
6. Bids
must be delivered to the address below at 7(c) or before June 6,
2006 at 2:30 P.M. All bids must be accompanied by a bid security of
Ethiopian Birr 100,000. Late bids shall be rejected. Bids will be
opened in the presence of the bidders/representatives who choose to
attend at the address below at 7 (d) at 2:30 P.M. on June 6, 2006.
