Description

1.      The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has received a credit from the International Development Association (IDA)- toward the cost of Public Sector Capacity Building Program, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to payments under the contract for the Supply & Delivery of Books Under-IFBNO. AACBB/G-01/05. The Loan amount is US $ 100,000,000.

2.      The Addis Ababa City Administration Capacity Building Bureau now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the Supply & Delivery of the following Books. Bidding will be conducted thorough National Completive Bidding (NCB) procedures as specified in the World Bank’s Gridlines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credit, and is open to all bidders from Eligible Source Countries.

3.      Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from Addis Ababa City administration Capacity Building Bureau, Programs Coordination Department, Ato Seife Fekade, E-mail seifekhai@yahoo.com. And inspect the Bidding Documents at the address stated at the end of this IFB below under 7.

4.      Bidders have the Option to bid for one or more of the lots, and for 100% of the qualities in each lot. Incomplete Lots will not be accepted. Bidders who have not quoted a technically responsive bid for at least 80% of the items in a lot will be considered as incomplete and rejected as non-responsive. Bids will be evaluated and contract awarded on LOT-BY-LOT basis. Additional details are provided in the Bidding Documents.

5.      A complete set of Bidding Documents in ENGLISH may be purchased by the interested bides on the submission of a Written Application to the address below stated at the end of this IFB and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Birr 50.00 (Birr Fifty Only). The method of payment will be in Cash only.

6.      Bids must be delivered to the address below stated at the end of this IFB. Bids will be closed at 2:00 P.M. May 3, 2006. Late Bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the Bidders/bidders’ represeatnvies who choose to present in person at 2:30 P.M. on May 3, 2006. All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security of Birr 9,000.00 (Birr Nine Thousand).
