The Government of Ethiopia has received a credit from International
Development Association (IDA) for public sector Capacity Building
program Support Project (PSCAP) and it intends to apply part of the
proceeds for the invitation of qualified consulting firm for the
translation of ICT terms to Somali language. The services
include the following:
Design a methodology for carrying
out the study
Identify (coined) ICT terminologies
for major operating systems with their appropriate office
application soft ware
Make extensive survey if existing
ICT bilingual dictionaries of glossaries having Ethiopian language
and identify those that are most relevant & comprehensive for the
translation.
Perform translation using
appropriate methodology, which should include important public
comments through out the life span of the translation.
Graft ICT Glossary standard
document.
Duration given for the assignment is
6-month time.
The Ethiopian Information and Communication Technology Development
Agency (ELCTDA) under the ICT Capacity Building program of PSCAP now
invite eligible consulting firms to indicate their interest in
providing the services. Interested consultants must provide
information indicating that they are qualified to perform the
services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience
in similar consultants may associate to enhance their
qualifications.
A
consultant will be selected in accordance with the procedures set
out in the World Band’s Guidelines: Selection and Employment of
consultants by World Band Borrower dated May 2004. Interested
consultants may obtain further information at the address below
during office hours 0900 to 1700 hours, Monday through Friday.
Expression of interest must be delivered to the address below on
January 29, 2007, 1700 hours local time.
