1.       The Ethiopian Insurance Corporation (EIC), the Employer for the works, invites prospective bidders of category GC/BC, class 1 with license valid for the year 1999 Eth. C. to fill a prequalification document for furnishing the necessary labor, material equipment and services for the construction of “Life house project” comprising a G+12 Tower, a G+4 Mall and a G+4 Multi story car park that constitute the envisaged project to be constructed opposite to the Ambassador Theatre in Addis Ababa.

2.       The construction of the building will be made of in-situ concrete frame structure (beam, column and slab) and a façade of hollow concrete blocks, curtain wall and concrete shear walls. The building is to be conveniently constructed on a substructure of mat foundation as well as isolated and continuous footing foundations.

Some of the works have an estimated volume of work comprising
Light internal partitions/Dry partition walls
Armstrong, PVC, metal, and concrete ceiling
Marble wall cladding
Mineral plaster
Tempered tinted reflective glass
Aluminum profile/curtain wall Aluminum windows and doors
PVC, carpet, porcelain and marble flooring

3.    A complete set of prequalification document could be obtained against payment of Birr 300 (Three Hundred) from the office of  Sileshi Consult Consulting Architects & Engineers P.L.C. Ethiopian Shipping Lines Bldh 3rd floor, P.O. Box 1405, Tel. 0115 15 24 75, Fax 011 553 36 58, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

4.     The prequalification document, fully documented, shall be sealed in a separate envelope. The envelope shall bear the name and address of the bidder as well as the title “Prequalification Document for the Construction of EIC’s “Life House project” and shall be submitted on, January 26 2007 at 2:00 P.M. at the Employer’s address: Ethiopian Insurance Corporation, Tel. 011 551 24 00, 7th Floor office No. 703, P.O. Box 2545, Addis Ababa, and will be opened on the same date at 2:30 P.M. in EICs conference hall.

5.      After the evaluation of the prequalification document is completed, the Client shall notify those Applicants whose proposal has not met the requirements specified in the prequalification document or were considered non responsive. The Client shall simultaneously notify the Applicants that are found eligible and qualified.

6.      The Corporation reserves the right to alter, amend or cancel this request, if it deemed to be in its interest.
