1. This
invitation for bid follows the general procurement notice for this
project that appeared in development business, issue No. 679 of 16
May 2006.
2. The
Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has applied for a credit
from the international bank for development of Africa and allocated
budget toward the cost of the Universal Electricity Access Program.
The office of universal electricity access Programme now intends to
apply part of the proceeds for the procurement of 5000 compact
fluorescent lamps as part of increasing people’s access to
electricity in rural towns and villages details with ratings if
found in the bid document.
3. The
Ethiopian Electric Power Corporation (EEPCo) now invites all
interested and eligible bidders for the following contract:

4. Interested
eligible bidders may obtain further information from and inspect the

5. The
bid document shall be valid from December 04, 2006 onwards
against payment of non-refundable fee of ETH Birr 300.
6. All
bids must be accompanied by a bid security of 2% of the bid price,
and must be delivered to the address above at or before 11:30
hours local time on December 24, 2006.
7. Bids
will be opened on December 24, 2006, 14:30 hours local time
in the presence of the bidders or their representatives who choose
to attend at EEPCO Club, Mexico Square, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
8. The
Ethiopian Electric Power Corporation reserves the right to reject
all or part of the bid.
