Description

TO ALL CONTRACTORS OF CATEGORY GC/BC Class 7 AND ABOVE WITH VALID LICENSE FOR THE YEAR 1998 E.C.

1.      The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (FERE) has received a credit from the International Development Association towards the cost of Agricultural Research & Training Project and intends to apply part of the funds to cover eligible payments under the contractors for the construction and maintenance of (A, B, C) the cost of the project for (D, E) covered by Government.

1. Retaining wall at Forestry Research Center-Addis Ababa
2. Office and Laboratory at National Fishery Research Center-Sebeta.
3. Maintenance work at Animal Health Research Center-Sebeta
4. Construction of Propagator & Store at Jimma research Center.
5. Construction of Cafeteria at Plant Protection Research Center Ambo

2.      Domestic Contractor are required to submit proof of their up to date registration from Ministry of Infrastructure Development & Trade Bureau at the place of registration is BC/GC 7 and above.

3.      The Construction work shall be completed within 90, 120, 100, 90, 90, respectively calendar days from the commencement of the works.

5.      Bids shall be valid for a period of 90 days after bid opening and must be accompanied by security of 3,000 Birr and shall be delivered to Ethiopian Institute of Agricultural Research on the 30^th days before 12:00 A.M. from the 1^st issuance date of the bid on The Ethiopian Herald.

6.      The Bid Security shall, at the bidder’s option, be in the form of cash, a certified cheque or payable order, bank draft, letter of credit, or an unconditional bank guarantee. Securities issued by foreign banks or financial institutions shall be counter-guaranteed by the Ethiopian bank. The format of the bid security should be in accordance with the form of bid security included in Section 4, Biding Forms or another form acceptable to the Employer. Bid security shall be valid for 28 day beyond the validity of the bid.

7.      Bids will be opened on the same date at 2:00 P.M. in the Conference Hall of the Ethiopian Institute of Agricultural Research (EIAR) in presence of the bidders or their representatives.

8.      The Ethiopian Institute of Agricultural Research (EIAR) reserves the rights to accept or reject any or all bids.
