1.      The Ethiopian Electric Power Corporation (EEPCo) has allocated a budget for the 1998 FEY and hereby invites all local competitive Bidders who have a Trade license, VAT registration, BoWaUD’s certificate & MoFaED registration valid for 1998 Ethiopian Calendar to conduct & submit a sealed bid for the supply of Household Furniture for Melka Wakana, Finchaa, Tis Abay, Awash II & III and Koka Hydro Electric Power plants workers recreation clubs, Tender RHPP2-98. The Tender document contains four parts (LOT -1, LOT -2, LOT -3 and LOT -4).

Lot -1:  High quality Household furniture (Sofas, Beds & Bed sides drawers, Dining tables & chairs, Padded Arm Chairs, shelves, Spring Foam matters, etc) as per the tender equipment.

Lot -2:  High quality Blankets, Pillows, Bed Sheets, Beddings, etc (from Bahir Dar, Awassa, Akaki, Dire Dawa, Arbaminch, Combolcha, DH. Geda, Almeda, etc Textile Factories) as per the tender requirement.

Lot -3: High Quality Electrical Household Items (Refrigerator, Iron, DVD Player, Electrical Stoves, Coffee Machines, Chest Freezers, Electric Fans, Draft Machines, Vacuum cleaners, Colour TVs, Washing Machines etc) as per the tender requirement.

Lot -4: Cultural furniture (Berchumas or three legs seats with Cultural Structured tables). The Tender invites supply CIF, mount & test the supplied equipment at the final point of destinations.

2.      To qualify for the tender, bidders should have sufficient experience in each individual LOTS.

3.      Bidders are allowed to bid and submit for all LOTS and/or individual LOTS. Bids submitted for All LOTS are more preferable and bids submitted for individual LOTS will be also considered as responsive Tender. (If a bidder requires the whole tender document in floppy disk, flash disk or CD it is allowed to collect from Power Plants Rehabilitation Project Office at Mexico Square.).

4.      Bidders are allowed to bid and submit a complete set of biding documents for Contract Components may be purchased by any interested eligible bidders upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Ethiopian Birr 100 (Birr One Hundred) for all LOTS from:

5.      The total tender price and bill of quantities shall be given in Ethiopian Birr, besides, the bidders should include 15% VAT in their bill of quantities.

6.      Elevation of the Offer shall be undertaken in two stages:

6.1   Preliminary Examination

In this initial stage preliminary examination for eligibility like presentation of valid Bid bond, trade license, VAT registration, BoWaUD’s certificate, MoFaED registration, power of attorney, qualification of the bidder, professionals assigned for each individual LOTS for with having valid licenses for 1998 Ethiopian Calendar & all tender requirements are renewed. Failure to comply with these requirements shall result in immediate rejection

6.2   Elevation for ranking: In this stage technical & financial merit point method shall be applied to determine the prospective bidder as per the tender requirements. The merit points are taken out of 100% (70% for technical offer and 30% for financial offer). In the technical evaluation (70%), quantity and quality of the equipment  to be supplied as per the tender requirement and proposed detail schedule activities for supply are weighted, while the 30% financial merit will be given to the lowest tender price

7.      Tender documents will be available from February 6, 2006, onwards.

8.      Interested bidders may visit the sites if they wish, covering the required cost.

9.      The Bid must be accompanied by a security of not less than 2% (Two Percent) of the total bid price for all and/or individual LOTS contract components in the form of certified check or Bank guarantee from a reputable domestic Bank.

10.  Offers should be delivered to the foregoing address on or before March 8, 2006 at 16:00 hrs. local time.

11.  Technical & Financial Offers will be opened on March 8, 2006 at 10:00 hrs local time at the EEPCo. Club, Mexico Square, Addis Ababa. Bidders are advised to attend this tender opening session.

12.  The Ethiopian Electric Power Corporation (EEPCo) reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
