1.      The Ethiopian Electric Power Corporation invites registered local contractors of Category GC-1 or BC-1 with licensee valid for the 1998 E.C. budget year registered for VAT to submit wax-sealed bids for the Design and Construction of the Halele Werabesa Hydroelectric Power Access Road and Division Road Project in a Turnkey mode.

3.      Each prospective bidder proposing to bid for this project must be eligible fulfilling the requirements of the Particular Instruction of the Project.

4.      A complete set of bidding documents may be purchased by any interested eligible bidders on the submission of a written application to the above address and payment of a non-refundable fee of Birr 1000.

5.      All bids must be accompanied by a bid security amount of Birr 100,000. The bid security shall be payable on demand to the employer, and must be an irrevocable Letter of Credit, or a guarantee form a bank/Insurance company located in Ethiopia, or a certified cheque at the bidders option.

6.      An organized site visit will be conducted on February 24-February 27, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. EEPCo. Club, Mexico Square.

7.      Bids will be opened in the presence of bidders or their representatives who choose to attend at EEPCo. Purchasing Division Office Piazza, on March 23, 2006 at 2:00 P.M.

8.      The construction of the work shall be completed within 300 calendar days form the commencement of works.

9.      The tender prepared by the tender and all correspondence and documents relating to the tender exchanging by the tender and the Employers shall be written in the English language.

10.  The employer reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities, to advertise for new bids or to proceed and do the work otherwise as may be for its best intersect.
