1. This
invitation for bids follows the general procurement Notice for this
Project that appeared in Development Business, issue on 22 November
2004.
2. The
Government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (FDRE) has
received a credit /grant from International Development
Association (IDA) toward the cost of water Supply and Sanitation
Project ,and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this credit
/grant to payments under the Contract for the Procurement of
Laboratory Equipment & Instrument identification number ICB
/MOWR/WSSP/IDA/02/2005".
3. The
Ministry of Water Resources now invites sealed bids from
eligible and qualified bidders for the Procurement of Laboratory
Equipment and Instruments in one Lot.
4. Bidders
may bid for one lot. Bids will be evaluated and contract awarded on a
lot -by -lot basis taking in to account discounts, if any .Bidders are
required to quote a technically responsive bid at least for 80% of the
item in the lot, and for 100%of the quantities in the item .
5. Bidding
will be conducted through the International Competitive Bidding (ICB)
Procedures specified in the World Bank 's Guide lines : Procurement
under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, and is open to all bidders from
Eligible Source Countries as defined in the Guidelines .
6. Interested
eligible bidders may obtain further information from the address below
and inspect the bidding documents at the address given below from
8:30 A.M. to 5:30 P.M. official
working days .
7. A
complete set of bidding documents in English may be purchased by
interested bidders on the submission of a written Application to the
address below and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of ETB 100 or
USD 12 .The method of payment will be in cash or CPO
.The bidding documents will be sent by courier services for the
service.
8. Bids
must be delivered to the address below at or before
March 29, 2006
at 2:00 P.M. Electronic bidding will not be permitted .Late bids will
be rejected .Bids will be opened in the presences of the
bidders/representatives who choose to attend in person at the address
below March 29,
2006
at 2:30 P.M. A bid security of
not less than 2 % of bid price or an equivalent amount must accompany
all bids in a freely convertible currency.
