Description

1.      The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia currently owns 100% equity of the Share Companies/Factories listed under 3.

2.      The Government intends to sell at least 51% ownership of these Companies/Factories to an investor or a group of investors ready and capable of operating and developing the companies.

3.      The Privatization and Public Enterprise Supervision Agency (PPESA), pursuant to the power and duties vested in it by Article 6 of Proclamation No. 412/2004 hereby, invites all prospective investors to submit bids for the partial or total acquisition of one or more of the following Companies/Factory.

2. Anbassa Shoe Share Company                                   Addis Ababa

3. Tikur Abay Shoe Share Company                              Addis Ababa

4. Combolcha Textile Share Company                           Combolcha

4.      The bid documents will be available in Room No. 517 of the Privatization and Public Enterprise Supervision Agency, Bole Road, in The Ethiopian Investment Agency Building, 5^th floor starting July 11, 2006.

5.      Interested bidders can obtain documents during working hours upon payment of non-refundable Birr 300 (Three Hundred Birr) or the equivalent in U.S. Dollar for each set of document.

6.      Bidders shall submit bid bond in accordance with the instructions to Bidders.

7.      Bids shall be submitted in wax-sealed envelopes on or before Friday, September 08, 2006 at 5:00 P.M. local time, Addressed as follow:

8.      The bid shall be open on the same day, September 08, 2006 at 5:30 P.M. local time in Room No. 509 at the same address stated above under No. 7.

9.      The Agency reserves the right to accept or reject bid partially or fully.
