This Specific Procurement Notice follows the General
Procurement Notice for this project, which appeared in Development
Business Issue No. 560 dated 16th 2001.
2.
The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has received a
loan from the African Development Fund in the amount of 29.67
million UA towards the cost of the Primary Health Care Project, and
intends to apply part of the proceeds of the supply of Drugs and
Medical Supplies. Bidding is open to all bidders from eligible
countries as defined in the ADB’s Rules of procedure for the
procurement of Goods and Works.

The Ministry of Health now invites sealed bids from

4. Complete
set of bidding documents (and additional copies) may be purchased
from the Ministry of Health, Pharmaceuticals Supply & Logistics
P/Department, Office of Secretary of the Tender Committee-Woreda 3,
Kebele 53, Sudan Street, Tel.251 11 515 17 90/251 11 553 51 55, Fax
251 11 551 26 91 251 11 553 51 66, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia upon
payment of non-refundable fee of Birr 200 or in an equivalent amount
of freely convertible currency, payable to Ministry of Health A/C
No. 016101011900 National Bank of Ethiopia. Interested eligible
bidders may obtain further information and inspect the bidding
documents at the same address.
5. The
instruction to bidders and general conditions of contract contained
in the bidding documents comply with the Bank’s Standard Bidding
Documents for the procurement of Goods/Works, January 2006.
6. Bids
shall be valid for a period of 90 days after bid opening and must be
accompanied by the security deposits in the amount indicated in the
table under item 3 above in local currency or its equivalent in a
freely convertible currency and be delivered to the Ministry of
Health on or before 2:00 P.M. local time on September 16, 2006. They
will be opened in the Ministry of Health, Office of Secretary of the
Tender Committee-Woreda 3, Kebele 53, Sudan Street, Addis Ababa,
Ethiopia on September 16, 2006 at 2:30 local time.
7. Qualified
domestic bidders may be eligible to receive a margin of preference
in bid evaluation.
