Description

1.       The Road Fund Administration Office of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (FDRE) has allocated sufficient budget towards the cost of Labor-Based Routine Road Maintenance works for the following Road Projects and intends to apply part of this budget to payments under these contracts.

2.       The Ethiopian Roads Authority invites contractors, which fulfills the following requirements, to submit sealed bids for the works mentioned in (1):

a)      Certificate of registration from Ministry of Works and Urban Development with category GC-5, RC-5, or BC-5 and below.

Bidders can participate in up to a maximum of two contracts.

b)      Others appropriate documentary evidence demonstrating the bidder’s compliance, which shall include:

i)        Its valid trading license and suppliers registration certificate; and

ii)       Its tax clearance certificate and VAT registration

iii)     Its evidence that has undergone labour based road maintenance training or carried out labour-based road maintenance.

3.      The work under these contract consist of Labour-Based Routine Road Maintenance Works, which involves the following activities but not limited to:

Ditch and culvert cleaning
Bush and Grass clearing
Slide and obstacle removal
Spot repair
Mortar and dry masonry repair
Gabbion structure work
Concrete construction
Repair Erosion damage
Paved waterway grouting work

5.      A complete set of bidding document in English language may be purchased by interested bidders at the address below at 7(b) and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of 150 ETB. The method of payment will be direct deposit to ERA’s account NBE 0160101011500 or direct payment to ERA casher. The document shall be collected from the address below at 7 (b) starting from July 19, 2006.

6.      Bids must be delivered to the address below at 7 (c) at or before August 31, 2006 at 2:30 P.M. and bids must be accompanied by a bid security of 5,000 ETB. Late bids shall be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders/represeatnvies who choose to attend at the address below at 7(d) on August 31, 2006 at 2:30 P.M.
