The Gambella
Regional State through the Government of Ethiopia has secured funds
from the International donors (International Development
Association, Unicef and others) toward the cost of the Water Supply
and Sanitation Project and it intends to apply part of funds to
cover eligible payments under the Contract for the following
services, works and goods,
The Gambella People’s National Regional State Water and Mines
Resources Development Bureau now invites:

Expression of
interest from eligible technical firms for hydrological
investigation, boreholes sitting and design in Abobo, Gilo, Gonder
and Dimma Woredas (on selected sites)

Sealed bids from
local or international eligible bidders for the drilling &
construction of the 30 shallow wells in Lare and Abobo Woredas
(lot 1) and 15 shallow wells in Jikawo, Itang and Wantoha Woredas
(lot 2)
1. A
complete set of bidding documents in English may be purchased
directly from the Regional Water Mines Resources Development Bureau
by presenting 1998 Renewed relevant license, VAT registration
certificate, registration certificate form relevant Ministries and
upon payment of a non refundable fee of 100 Birr or USD 10 for part
(B) and Birr 50 for part (C) by interested bidders on submission of
a written application to the address indicated below.
2. Rotary
drilling rings with air and water/mud flush facilities for drilling
through the cover burden and down the hole hammer facilities for
drilling in hard rock are required, Cable tool rings may be used for
lot 2 only.
3. Bid
shall be valid for a period of one hundred and twenty (120) days
after bid opening and must be accompanied by a bid security of not
less than 1% of the total bid price. They shall be delivered to
address specified below on or before 11:00 A.M. on 14 August, 2006.
Bids for both part (B) and part (C) shall be opened at 3:00 P.M. on
the same day in the presence of the bidders who wish to attend.
4. Expression
of interest for consultancy service (Part A) shall be closed on the
same date and short listed firms/consultants shall be provided with
detailed RFP latter on.
5. Additional
details are provided in the Bidding documents.
6. Regional
Water and Mines Resources Development Bureau reserves the right to
reject all or part of the bid.
