To all
contractors of Category GC/BC -5 and above with license valid for
the current fiscal year.
1.
The Government of FDRE has obtained a Grant form the German
Financial Cooperation (KFW) for financing the ‘Urban Development
Fund’ (UDF). Portion of this fund has been allocated for Mekelle
Municipality; by the National Steering Committee, towards the cost
of construction work of sanitary landfill project.
2.
The Mekelle Municipality invites qualified contractors of
stated category with relevant experience and valid license for
current fiscal year to submit wax-sealed tenders for the Civil Works
Construction Sanitary Landfill Project.
3.
The work on offer mainly consists of the following
components;
a)
Sanitary Landfill
b)
Office blocks
c)
Access Road
4.
Bidders must have a valid registration certificate from
Ministry of Infrastructure and be registered for VAT.
5.
Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information
from and inspect the bidding documents at the office of:

6.
A complete set of bidding documents may be purchased against
payment of non-refundable fee of Birr 500 from Mekelle Municipality.
7. The
tender must be accompanied by a Tender security in an amount of ETB
50,000 in the form of a certified cheque, bank draft, letter of
credit, or bank guarantee from a reputable bank draft, letter or
credit, or bank guarantee from a reputable bank in Ethiopia in the
form provided in the Tender Documents.
8. Tenders
must be delivered to the address given above No. 5 at working hours
from 20/11/98 up to 10/12/98 E.C. up to the time 8:30 P.M.
local time.
9. Tenders
will be opened in the presence of those tenders/representatives who
choose to attend at the Conference Hall of Mekelle Municipality, at
10/12/98 E.C. on 9:00 P.M. (local time and date).
10. Tenders
shall be valid for a period of ninety (90) days after tender
opening.
11. The
Mekelle Municipality reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
