The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has received a
credit from the International Development Association toward the
cost of Post-Secondary Education Project, and it intends to apply
part of the proceeds of this credit to payments under the Contract
for the Supply and Delivery of Farm Equipment- IFB No.
AU/PSEP/NCB/5-05/06.
2.
The Haramaya University now invites sealed bids from eligible
and qualified bidders for the Supply and Delivery of Farm Equipment.

Bids not offering at least 90% of the items in the tender will be
treated as incomplete and rejected as non-responsive unless no
complete bid is received for a lot in which case the purchaser will
evaluate and award the contract(s) for each item in the lot. For
evaluation purposes, the cost of the missing items will be
calculated by using the average price of other technically
responsive bidders.
3. Bidding
will be conducted through National Competitive Bidding (NCB)
procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement
under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, and is open to all bidders from
Eligible Source Countries ad defined in the Guidelines.
4. Interested
eligible bidders may obtain further information from Haramaya
University Liaison Office, Office No. 116, Ministry of Education,
Old Building, Addis Ababa, Tel. 011 157 10 98 or 011 155 31 33 Ext.
208 and inspect the bidding document at the address given below from
8:30 A.M. to 12:30 A.M. and 1:30 to 5:30 P.M. during working days.
5. A
complete set of bidding documents in English may be purchased by
interested bidders on the submission of a written the application to
the address below and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Birr
200 or equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency. The
method of payment will be in the form of cahier’s, certified or
crossed check or a bank draft in favour of the Haramaya University.
6. Bids
must be delivered to the address below at or before 11:00 A.M. on
August 30, 2006. Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late bids
will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the
bidders/representatives who choose to attend in person at the
address below at 11:00 A.M. on August 30, 2006. All bids must be
accompanied by a bid security of Birr 10,000 or its equivalent
amount in a freely convertible currency.
