1. The
Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (FDRE) has fund within the
Employer’s budget to be used for the procurement of a Contractors
for Groundwater Study, Design, Drilling and Development Project.
2. The
Ethiopian Roads Authority invites sealed bids from eligible bidders
for Groundwater Study, Design, Drilling and Development Project.
The project site found in the
Somalia Regional State, Jijiga Degehabur-Kebridehar-Shilabo and
Kebridehar-Gode Routes.
The Scope of the project is to
Study, Design, Drill and Development about ten (10) deep mapping
water wells with an average depth of 250 meter for each.
3. Bidding
will be conducted in accordance with the open National tendering
procedures contained in the Public Procurement Proclamation of the
Federal Government of Ethiopia and is open to all eligible bidders
which fulfill the following requirements.
a)
In the case of
Ethiopian bidders only, its certificate of registration from
relevant bodies with category, drilling Contractors grade III or
above.
b)
In the case of Bidders
other than Ethiopians, any relevant professional practice
certificate
c)
Others appropriate
documentary evidence demonstrating the bidder’s compliance, which
shall include:
i)
Its valid trading
license and suppliers registration certificate; and
ii)
Its tax clearance
certificate and VAT registration
4. Interested
eligible bidders may obtain further information from Ethiopian Roads
Authority and inspect the bidding documents at the address given
below at 7(a) from 8:30 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. and 1:30 P.M. to 5:30
P.M. from Monday to Thursdays and 8:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. and 1:30
P.M. to 5:30 P.M. on Friday’s local time starting from July 4,
2006. The Ethiopian Roads Authority will hold a pre-bid meeting on
July 21, 2006 at 9:30 A.M.

A complete set of
bidding document in English language may be purchased by interested
bidders at the address below at 7(b) and upon payment of a
non-refundable fee of 150 ETB. The method of payment will be direct
deposit to ERA’s account NBE 0160101011500 or direct payment to ERA
casher. The document shall be collected from the address below at 7
(a) starting from July 4, 2006.
6. Bids
must be delivered to the address below at 7 (c) at or before August
8, 2006 at 2:30 P.M. and bids must be accompanied by a bid security
of 50,000 ETB. Late bids shall be rejected. Bids will be opened in
the presence of the bidders/represeatnvies who choose to attend at
the address below at 7(d) on August 8, 2006 at 2:30 P.M.
