1. The
Ministry of Health has received a grant from the Government of the
Italian Republic toward the cost of Italian Contribution to the
Health Sector Development Program, and it intends to apply part of
the process of this grant to payments under the Contract for
Procurement of Medical Equipment.
2. The
Ministry of Health now invites sealed bids from eligible and
qualified bidders for the supply of Medical Equipment to Oromia
Regional Health Bureau under the following five Lots. Bidders have
the option to bid for one or more lots.
Lot I: Sterilizer
Lot II: Laboratory Equipment
Lot III: Equipment for
Examination & Treatment & Operation
Lot IV: Equipment or MCH, Labor
& Preparation delivery
Lot V: Equipment for
Operation, Surgery & X-ray
3. Bidding
will be conducted through the International Competitive Bidding
(ICB) procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines and
according to the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs requirements,
and are open to all bidders from Eligible Sources Countries as
defined in the Guidelines.

5.
Qualification
requirements include:
a)
Technical &
Experience-At least two contractors completed successfully of
similar nature size within the past five years.
b)
Legal-Manufacture’s or
Supplier’s agent/represeatnvies must submit Renewed Trade License
and registration certificate in accordance with the Ethiopian law.
6. A
complete se of bidding document in English language may be purchased
by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to
the address below and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of
Ethiopian Birr 150 (One Hundred Fifty Birr) or USD 50 or equivalent
in a freely convertible currency. The method of payment will be in
cash, or cashier’s check, or direct deposit to MoH A/C No.
0160101011900. The bidding documents will sent by Couriers Services.
7. Bids
must be delivered to the address below at or before 2:00 P.M. August
29, 2006. Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late bids will
be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the
bidders/represeatnvies who choose to attend in person at the
Conference Hall of Ministry of Health, Head Office, Ledeta Sub City,
Kebele 53, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia at 2:30 P.M. August 29, 2006. All
bids must be accompanied by a bid security of 2% of the bid amount
(including all incidental services) issued by a Bank and counter
guaranteed by any local Bank if issued from abroad in a freely
convertible currency. Insurance Bond is not accepted.
