all Contractors of Category GC/BC-5 and above with license valid for
the Current Fiscal Year.
1. The
Government of FDRE has obtained a Grant from the German Financial
Cooperation (KfW) for financing the “Urban Development Fund” (UDF).
Portion of this fund has been allocated for AWASSA City
Administration, by the National Steering Comminute, towards the cost
of Construction Work of Market Center Up grading Project.
2. The
Awassa City Administration invites qualified contracts of stated
category with relevant experience and valid license for the current
fiscal year to submit wax-sealed tenders for the Civil Works
Construction Market Center Upgrading Project.
3. The
work on offer refers to first phase of the construction project and
mainly consists of the following components:
a)
Upgrading the
peripheral gravel road with the corresponding surface drainage
system.
b)
Site Works that
comprise earthwork and red ash pavement for open market, inner
gravel roads and internal drainages systems;
c)
Building blocks
amounting of 8 for sheltered veranda and shopping uses. (i.e.
5-sheltered veranda and 3-blocklabe shops 2x4m)
d)
Toilets (1 dry pit
latrine and 1 toilet with septic tank).
4. Bidders
must have a valid registration certificate from Ministry of
Infrastructure and must be register for VAT.
5. Interested

6. A
Complete set of Bidding Documents may be purchased against payment
of a non-refundable fee of Birr 300.00 from Awassa City
Administration or
Urban Development Capacity Building

7. The
tender must be accompanied by a Tender Security in an amount of ETB
50,000 in the form of a certified cheque, bank draft, letter of
credit, or bank guarantee from a reputable bank in Ethiopia in the
form provided in the Tender Documents.
8. Tenders
must be delivered to the address given above 5 on or before 12:00
Noon on 21 days from first announcement of this bid in The Ethiopian
Herald.
9. Tenders
will be opened on same day at 2:00 P.M. in the presence f those
Tender’s represeatnvies who choose to attend at the Conference Hall
of City Administration,
10. Tenders
shall be valid for a period of Ninety (90) days after tender
opening.
11. The
City Administration reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
