RE-INVITATION
The Government
of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (GFDRE) has received
a loan from International Development Association (IDA) towards the
cost of the Road Sector Development Program Phase II Support
Project, and intends to apply part of proceeds of this loan to
payments under the contract for the contract listed below.
This bidding is
for four lots (contracts) -2 lots in the Benishangul-Gumuz National
Regional State, 1 lot in the Oromia National Regional State, and 1
lot in Tigray National State. Applicant may apply for
prequalification for one or multiple lots (contracts). In case of
multiple lots (contracts), the Employer shall pre-qualify each
applicant for the maximum number and types of lots (contracts), for
which the applicant meets the appropriate aggregate requirement of
such lots (contracts).

The Ethiopian
Roads Authority (ERA), duly representing the Government of the
Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (GFDRE), now intends to
pre-qualify contractors and/or firms for the construction works of
the contracts.
It is expected
that invitation to bid will be made in Agues 2006.
Pre-qualification will be conducted through pre-qualification
procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Programme under
IBRD Loan and IDA Credits, May 2004 and is open to all bidders from
eligible source countries, as defined in the guidelines.
Interested
eligible bidders may obtain further information from and inspect the
pre-qualification documents at the Ethiopian Road Authority (Address
below) from 8:30 A.M.-12:30 A.M. and 1:30 P.M. -5:30 P.M. from
Monday to Thursday and from 8:30 A.M. -11:30 A.M. and 1:30 P.M. –
5:30 P.M. on Friday. A complete set of pre-qualification documents
in English Language may be purchased by interested bidders on the
submission of a written application to the address below and upon
payment of non-refundable fee of USD 50 or Ethiopian Birr 400 per
contract. The method of payment will be cahiers check or direct
deposit to ERA’s account NBE A/C No/ GOV. 0160101011500.
The document
will be sent by registered air mail if required so by prospective
applicants but under no circumstance will it be held responsible for
late delivery or loss of the documents so mailed.
Application for
pre-qualification should be submitted in sealed envelopes, delivered
to he address and schedule below, and be clearly marked
“Application to Prequalify for the construction works of (state the
contract name, contract identification)”. The respective
application should be submitted on or before the times indicted
below.
