The Government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia
has allocated sufficient budget towards the cost of the Nazareth-Assela-Dodala
and Shashemene-Goba Road Upgrading Project, Contract 4: Shashemene-Dodola
Junction Lot-1 Shashemene-Km 35 and Lot 2: Km 35-Dodola Junction and
intends to apply part of the proceeds to eligible payments for the
construction works.

The Ethiopian Roads Authority now invites registered
contractors of Category GC-1 or RC-1 with their professional and
trade license valid for the year 1998 E.F.Y. and registered for VAT
to submit sealed bids for providing the necessary labor, materials
and equipment for Nazareth-Assela-Dodola and Shashemene-Goba Road
Upgrading Project, Contract 4: Shashemene-Dodola Junction Lot1
Shashemene-Km 35 and Lot 2: Km 35-Dodola Junction. The Road is
located in the Southern Part of Ethiopia in the Oromia Regional
State.

The works under Lot-1 and Lot 2 of these contracts consist of
the upgrading of the existing gravel surfaced road and realignments,
as needed, to a two lane asphalt (double surface treated ) roads of
7.0 meter carriageway width and 1.5 meter shoulders on each side
including construction of structures like bridges, culverts and
ancillary works along the roads stretch.

Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information
and inspect the bidding documents at the Ethiopian Roads Authority
at the address given below from 8:30 to 12:30 A.M. and 1:30 to 5:30
P.M. from Monday to Thursday and 8:30 to 11:30 A.M. and 1:30 P.M. to
5:30 P.M. on Friday local time. A complete set of bidding documents
in English may be purchased by interested bidders as of May 17, 2006
at the above office upon presentation of the document mentioned
under item (2) above and a written application to the ERA and upon
payment of a non-refundable fee of Birr 750 for each Lot.

Bidders shall submit three envelopes, “Qualification
Questionnaires”, “Bid” and a
“Bid security,” separately sealed and the three envelopes should
also be sealed in an
outer single envelope.
6.
Evaluation is to be carried out in two stages, Qualification
applications first and bids of qualified bidders next.
7.
Bids must be delivered to the address below on or before June
29, 2006 at 2:30 P.M. All bids must be accompanied by a bid security
of ETB 100,000 otherwise will be rejected. Bids will be opened
in the presence of bidders/representatives who choose to attend, at
the address below on June 29, 2006 at 2:30 P.M.
