1. The
Ethiopian Roads Authority invites registered contractors of category
GC-1 or RC-1 with their professional certificate and trade license
valid for the year 1998 E.F.Y. and registered for VAT to submit
sealed bids for the construction of Serdo-Afdera-Afrarhaik Road
Upgrading Project, Contract 2: Km. 90+000 to Km. 186+017. The
Serdo-Afdera-Afrarhaik Road is located in the North Eastern part of
Ethiopia in the Afar Regional State.
2. The
work under this contract consists of construction of the road to
Asphalt Concrete standard and construction of minor and major
drainage structures. The Government, in line with its strategy to
build the capacity of the Domestic Construction Industry in major
Asphalt Concrete works, has decided to undertake this project
through National Completive Bidding.
3. Interested
eligible bidders may obtain further information, inspect and acquire

4. The
bidding documents in prepared in English language and can be
purchased by interested bidders as of May 29, 2006 at the above
office upon presentation of the document mentioned under item (1)
above and a written application to the Engineering Services
Procurement, Design and Technical Support Division of ERA and upon
payment of a non-refundable fee of Birr 750.
5. Bidders
shall submit their envelopes, “Qualification applications first and
bids of qualified Bidders next.
6. Evaluation
is to be carried out in two stages. Qualification application first

7. All
bids must be accompanied by a security in the form and amount
specified in the bidding documents, and must be delivered to:
