Description

 

1.      The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has received a credit from the International Development Association toward the cost of Emergency Demobilization and Reintegration Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this credit to payments under the Contract for Procurement of Physiotherapy and Orthopedic Equipment.

2.      The MoLSA, Demobilization and Reintegration Coordination Unit now invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified bidders for the supply of Physiotherapy and Orthopedic Equipment under the following three Lots. Bidders have the option to bid for one or more lots.

            Lot I:         Orthopedic Workshop Equipment
            Lot II:          Physiotherapy Equipment
            Lot III:         Plastic Injection Machine and Moulds

3.   Bidding will be conducted through the International Competitive Bidding (ICB) procedures specified in The World Bank’s Guide-lines: Procurement under IBRD Loans an IDA Credits, and is open to all bidders from Eligible Source Countries as defined in the Guidelines.

4.   Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from MoLSA, Demobilization and Reintegration Coordination Unit, Telephone: 251 011 15 64 991/93 Facsimile number: 251 11 1565277 Electronic mail address: molsa.drsu@ethionet.et, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and inspect the Bidding Documents at the address given below from 8:30 A.M. 12:30 P.M. and 1:30 P.M. 5:30 P.M. from Monday to Friday.

5.   Qualifications requirements include:

 a.  Legal-Manufacturer’s or Supplier’s agents/representatives must submit a registration certificate in a accordance with the Ethiopian law.

6.      A complete set of Bidding Documents in English language may be purchase by interested bidders on the submission of a written Application to the address below and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Ethiopian Birr 200.00 (Two Hundred Birr) or in USD 50.00 or equivalent in a freely convertible currency. The method of payment will be in cash, or Cashier’s Payment Order, or direct deposit to MoLSA, Demobilization and Reintegration Coordination Unit A/C No. GOV. 0160101291400 with the National Bank of Ethiopia. The Bidding Documents will be sent by Courier Service to those who paid in Foreign Currency.

7.      Bids must be delivered to the address below at or before 2:00 P.M. December 05, 2006. Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders/representatives who choose to attend in the presence of the bidders/representatives who choose to attend in person at Meeting Hall of Demobilization and Reintegration Coordination Unit, Gulele Sub City, Kebele 06, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia at 2:30 P.M. December 05, 2006. All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security of 2% of the bid amount (including all incidental service) or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency. If the Institute issuing the bond is located outside the purchase’s country, it shall have a correspondent financial institution located with the purchaser’s country to make the bond enforceable or an equivalent amount. Insurance Bond is not accepted.
