Wonji/Shoa Sugar Factory (WSSF), Ethiopia, on behalf of the
Government of Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia intends to
install one new sugar factory with designed cane crushing capacity
of 12,500 TCD (tons cane per day) including co-generation, located
about 100 km south east of Addis Ababa in the Oromia region of
Ethiopia. The project site is adjacent to the Nazareth-Assela
highway with a convenient distance to the port of Djibouti, about
840 km from Nazareth in East direction.
INVITATION OF BIDS
WSSF invites bids from interested bidders to design, manufacture,
supply, delivery to Port Djibouti, transport locally to the site,
store, erection of mechanical and electrical equipment, train
employer’s personnel, commission, test and hand over under terms of
single turnkey contract of single turnkey contract of
LOT 1. BOILING HOUSE EQUIPMENT OF
CANE SUGAR FACTORY
LOT 2. CO-GENERATION PLANT WITH 2
SETS OF CON-DESIGNING TYPE TURBINE WITH A CAPACITY OF 30 MW EACH.
The Boiling House shall be in two streams as per the
specifications defined in bid document and each steam shall be
suitable for 6250 TCD capacity.
Bidding will be conducted through Competitive Bidding procedures
specified in the bid documents and are open to all the eligible
bidders from Indian firms, joint Ventures, Consortiums. Bidders will
be selected through a transparent process in accordance with the
requirement defined in the bid document for selection of bidders.
However, the eligibility criteria of the bidders shall be based on
bidding firms should have to be in existence for at least 15
years. In case of a consortium, the lead bidders should be
mentioned and should have to be in existence for at least 15
years. In case of a Joint Venture specifically formed for the
purpose of this project, at lest one member should have to be in
existence for at lest 15 years.
bidders should have minimum current net worth of US $ 10 million,
certified by a Charted Accountants.
bidders should have at least 10 years experience in design,
manufacture, supply and installation of sugar factory Power
Generation Equipment in India and internationally. In case of
Consortium, the lead bidders should have 10 years of experience in
design, manufacture, supply and installation of sugar factory Power
Generation Equipment in India and internationally.
Bidders, a firm, consortium or a member of Joint Venture, must have
executed a minimum of 2 such projects in the past 10 years and on
project outside India, preferably in East African in the past 5
years of a sugar factory not less than 5000 TCD capacity.
Bidders must have his associate/representative in Ethiopia, who is
knowledgeable in the procedures of customs, immigration, etc.
Bid is to be accompanied with a bid security in the amount of USD
11,600 for each Lot.
Bidders, who fulfill the above
eligibility criteria can
purchase the Bid documents either directly or on submission of
written application to the address indicated here below and upon
payment of non-refundable fee of Ethiopian Birr 5,000 (US $ 575
only) for each Lot. But, if it is from India, there will be an
additional Ethiopian Birr 500 (US $ 58 only) for each bid, required,
for postage/courier in the name of Wonji/Shoa Sugar Factory,
Ethiopia, payable at Addis Ababa, by Demand Draft of Banker’s
