1.      The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has received a credit from International Development Association (IDA) towards the cost of Agricultural Research and Training Project and intends to apply part of the funds to cover eligible payments under the contract for the Construction of Asphalt Access Roads and Parking Areas at Haramaya University Campus-Tender No. AU/ARTP/NCB/CW11-05/06. Bidding is open to all bidders from eligible source countries as defined in the Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Land and IDA Credits.

2.      The Haramaya University invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the construction of the Site Works.

Bidders have the option to bid for one lot only.

3.      Domestic bidders are required to submit proof of their up to date registration from Ministry of Infrastructure and Urban Development. The category of registration for the construction of the works in GC 4 and above.

4.      Bidding documents (and additional copies) may be purchased at the Haramaya University Liaison Office in Addis Ababa, Office NO. 116, Ministry of Education, Old Building Tel. 011 157 10 98 or 011 1 55 31 33 (Ext. 208) or 091 124 62 95 for a non-refundable fee of Ethiopia Birr 300 (Ethiopian Birr Three Hundred) or its equivalent in a freely-convertible currency, for each set. Interested bidders may obtain further information at the same address.

5.      Bids shall be valid for a period of 90 days after bid opening and must be accompanied by security of Birr 30,000 and shall be delivered to Haramaya University Addis Ababa Liaison Office, Ministry of Education, Office No. 116 old building, Tel. 57 10 98 or 55 31 33 (Ext. 208) Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on or before 9:30 A.M. on October 8, 2006, at which time they will be opened in the presence of bidders who wish to attend.

6.      Qualified domestic bidders may be eligible to receive a margin or preference of 7 percent.
