1.      The Government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (FDRE) has received a loan and a grant from the African Development Fund toward the cost of education III project and intends to apply part of the funds to cover eligible payments under the contract(s) for construction for two G+4 blocks in Addis Ababa City Government Kirkos Sub-City Administration Kebele 02/03 as expansion project for Temenga Yaj Primary School.

2.      The Addis Ababa City Government Kirkos Sub-City Administration Education Office now invites sealed bids from prospective bidders for the construction of the above mentioned G+4 Primary School blocks. Bidding is open to all contractors in GC5 or BC 5 category and above, who have been registered with the Ministry of Works and Urban Development of FDRE and have renewed their license for current year 2006/2007.

3.      Bidding documents (and additional copies) may be obtained at the Kirkos Sub-city Administration purchasing and General Service Team (Office No. 58, Tel. 15 32 24 Or 15 51 77) upon submission of a written request to Kirkos Sub-City Administration Education Office and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Birr 100 for the bid document. Interested bidders may obtain further information at the same office.

4.      Bids shall be valid for a period of 120 calendar days after bid opening and must be accompanied by security of 2 percent of the estimated construction cost of the primary school in the form of cash, or cash payment order (CPO) or Bank Guarantee valid for a period of 28 calendar days beyond the period of bid validity. Bidders should prepare one original and 2 photographic copy documents/copied using photocopy machine. Bidders should write the bid amount of the project in figure and in works on the appreciate space. Modification can be cone on the original document. But, the modification should be clear and readable. An authorized person, the general Manger, should sign at the side of each modification. Hand written copy documents/other than ethnographic copy documents/shall be rejected. Bids shall be delivered to Kirkos Sub-City Administration Purchasing and General Service Team at the above address on or before 10:00 AM on 45th calendar day from the date of publication of the invitation to bid. Bids will be opened on the same date as bid closing at 10:30 AM at the above address in the presence of the bidders who wish to attend the opening ceremony.

5.      The Office reserves the right to reject the bid participate or wholly.
