1. Brief
Description of the work: The work consists of the upgrading of the
existing gravel road to a triple surface treated road with 7.0 m
carriageway width andshouldr1.5m on each side. The length of the
road Kebridehar to Shilabo is about 105 lm.
2. The
Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (FDRE) has allocated
sufficient budget towards the cost of construction of
Kebridehar-Shilabo Road Upgrading Project and intends to apply part
of this budget to payments under this contract.
3. The
Ethiopian Roads Authority invites all Contractors of category GC-1
OR RC-1 registered at the Ministry of Works & Urban Development.
4. Contractors
should renew their registration license for 1999 Ethiopian Calendar
year.

The bidding document can be purchased as of April 6, 2007 up
on presentation of a registration certificate from Ministry of Works
& Urban Development, VAT registration certificate and on submission
of a written application to the Engineering Services Procurement.
Design and Technical Support Division of ERA and upon payment of a
non-refundable fee of Ethiopian Birr 750 (Birr Seven Hundred Fifty)
made payable to Ethiopian Roads Authority.
7.
Bidders shall prepare
and submit two separately sealed envelopes for the “Qualification
Document” and the “Bid”, both of which shall be enclosed
in an outer envelope marked as “Bid document for Kebridehar-Shilabo
Road Upgrading Project”. The bid document shall be accompanied by an
acceptable bid security as indicated in the bidding document and
should be enclosed in the envelope containing the “Qualification
Document”.

The Bid document shall be prepared in one original and four
copies and must be submitted to the Director General Office,
Ethiopia, Road Authority, P.O. Box 1770, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Fax
251 11 551 48 66, Tel 251 11 515 66 03 on or before May 29, 2007.
9. Qualification
document will be opened immediately after the closing time for
submission in the presence of ERA Contract Award Committee &
Bidders/representatives who wish to attend.
10. A
bid document, which is received late, will not be considered.
11.
ERA reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
