SPECIFIC PROCUREMENT NOTICE
FEDERAL DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF ETHIOPIA
HARAR WATER SUPPLY AND SANITATION PROJECT
Construction of Storm Water Drainage System in Harar City
1. The
Government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has
received a loan from the Africa Development Fund in the amount of UA
19,890,000 towards the cost of Harar water Supply and Sanitation
Project, and intends to apply part of the proceeds of the loan to
cover eligible payments under the contract for the construction of
storm water drainage system. Building is open to all local bidders
who has GC-III and above construction license and from eligible
source countries as defined in the ADB’s Rules of Procedure for
Procurement of Goods and Works.
2. The
Ministry of Water Resources now invites sealed bids from eligible
bidders who can provide GC-III and above construction license for
the construction of Strom water drainage system.
The construction of nearly 12.3 km
closed pipe conduits and associated civil construction works like;
manholes, street inlets and out fall structures for the improvement
of Harar city storm water drainage system of inside and outside
Jegol.
3. Complete
sets of bidding documents (and additional copies) may be purchased

For a non-refundable fee of
Birr 500.00 (Five Hundred birr only), or its equivalent in a freely
convertible currency, for each set. Interested bidders may obtain
further information at the same address.
4. Bids
shall be valid for a period of 120 days after bid opening and must
be accompanied by a bid security of ETB 180,000.00 (One Hundred
Eighty Thousand Birr) or its equivalent in a freely convertible
currency, and shall be delivered to the above office on or before
12:00 noon local time on September 27, 2007. Bids will be opened in
the presence of bidders who wish to attend at the Ministry of Water
resources at 2:00 PM local time on the same day.
5. The
Ministry of water Resources reserves the right to accept and reject
any bid, and annul bidding process. |
