1. The
Government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopian (FDRE)
has received a loan and a grant from the African Development Fund in
the amount of UA 32.3 million towards the cost of Education III
Project and intends to apply part of the proceeds of the loan to
cover eligible payments under the purchase of furniture and
equipment for primary schools in the Gambella regional State.
2. The
Gambella National Regional State Education Bureau now invites sealed
bids for the supply of further and/or equipment listed below.
Bidding is open to all bidders from eligible member countries as
defined in the ADB’s Rules of Procurement of the Goods and works.
Domestic suppliers who wish to participate in the bid must submit a
license valid for the year 2006/2007 and VAT registration
certificate along with their bid documents.

3. Bidding
documents may be obtained at Gambella bureau of Education (Tel.
0475-5712 36, P.O. Box 35) upon submission of a written request to
Bureau of education and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Birr
100 for each lot and set. Interested bidders may obtain further
information at the office.
4. Bids
shall be valid for a period of 90 calendar days after bid opening
and must be accompanied by security of Birr 2% of bid amount in the
form of cash, or cash payment order (CPO), or Bank Guarantee
valid for a period of 28 days beyond the date of bid opening. Bids
shall be delivered to the above office on or before 10:00 A.M. after
45 calendar days from the date of publication of invitation to bid
on news paper.
5. Bids
will be opened on the same date as the Bid closing at 10:30 A.M. at
the above address in the presence of the bidders or representatives
who wish to attend the opening ceremony.
6. The
Bureau has the right to reject any or all bids.
